Positive Discipline Project Officer

Save the Children works in seven regions in Rwanda with a current staff complement of approximately 50 staff. SCI Rwanda Country Office seeks to hire qualified, committed and experienced nationals to fill the following positions;


This is a Grade 4 position.

Based in Burera, The Project Officers are accountable for implementing positive discipline project activities in specific sectors of Burera district

1.    Project implementation
·         Organise and facilitate trainings on positive discipline
·         Accompanying the trained parents, teachers and local leaders in process to implementing positive disciple in schools and at home
·         Organise community based campaign aiming at raising awareness on Positive Discipline
·         Supervise and coach trained teachers and parents associations’ members to develop activity plans and monitor their implementation;
·         Collaborate with local authorities to ensure the smooth implementation of the project
·         Ensure timely project monitoring reports are produced and submitted to project coordinator

2. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning / Research
·         With the support of the MEAL officer, monitor, document and report the level of implementation of PD in schools
·         Regular collection data on project activities using  monitoring tools
·         Ensure that quality, monthly, quarterly and other reports are developed and submitted in accordance with agreed schedules

3.  Save the Children representation
·         Effectively participate in coordination mechanisms with CP stakeholders in Burera district;
·         Ensure that Save the Children’s CP/CRG programmes are represented at District level fora and round-tables

·         Degree level in Social Sciences, education, psychology and any other related field
·         Demonstrable skills and experience in project implementation, preferable having worked with NGO
·         Problem-solving and decision-making skills
·         Skills in community mobilization
·         Skills in training facilitation
·         Training in areas of Child Protection and/or Child Rights Governance will be considered as an asset
