Location: Kigali,Rwanda
Contract: Full-time (fixed-term 12 month contract with the option to extend)

Girl Hub is an organisation working to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. We do this by investing in programmes for girls, connecting girls to each other to amplify their voices, and brokering access to the critical assets girls need. We drive behaviour change by harnessing media in innovative ways and building social networks to shift girls’ perceptions of themselves and how others value them.

When a girl is better educated, has access to sexual and reproductive healthcare information and services, has access and control of economic assets, is safe from violence and exploitation, and has the capabilities and confidence to make positive choices, she can break the cycle of poverty. That’s why we’re working to reach 250 million girls living in poverty with the tools and assets they need to achieve their full potential by 2030. We currently operate in Rwanda, Nigeria and Ethiopia with headquarters in London.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Communications to join our Girl Hub team in beautiful Kigali, Rwanda. The role will be responsible for ensuring that all communications activities are in line with the overall Girl Hub Rwanda strategy to transform the lives of girls. You will have strategic oversight of, as well as responsibility for: Using powerful stories to deliver real change for girls; creating communications and campaigns that influence others to take action for girls; overseeing all communications for our Ni Nyampinga behaviour-change brand; managing Girl Hub Rwanda core communications and events; and playing a key role in the Rwanda senior team, along with managing our Communications Coordinator.

Candidates should have a minimum of six years' experience in a high profile communications or PR role in an international organisation, with excellent written and spoken English. Proven experience of communications strategy development and implementation is a must-have, along with a strong background in powerful storytelling.  We are looking for an energetic and creative manager, who has a thorough understanding of the needs of different media and communication tools for digital, print and broadcast, along with knowledge of international media landscapes.
