Cooperative Manager

ON& Associates Ltd, on behalf of its client COPCOM, would like to recruit the Manager who will be responsible for daily management of the Cooperative Operations and the team of COPCOM entire staff.

COPCOM is cooperative organization operating in Gisozi, District Gasabo, City of Kigali. The majority of members are traders of construction materials and equipment. It has been constituted as a resulted of the transformation of the former union of associations known as UAGARWA. It is a legally licensed cooperative under license no 1320 of 06 December 2010 issued by RCA.

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, Manager will be responsible for the effective management of the operations of the Cooperative to move the team toward the financial, operational and social objectives of the Cooperative. The manager will responsible for maintaining good relationships with banks as major stakeholders of the Cooperative. He/ She will be responsible for the efficient management of COPCOM Building and maintaining productive relationships with tenants to ensure the achievement of Cooperative Objectives.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing duties and responsibilities to different employees, supervise and taking corrective measures.
  • Preparation of the work sequence
  • With collaboration of board of directors, s/he must prepare the work plan of profitable projects, perform monitoring and their implementation.
  • With collaboration of Accountant of the cooperative, s/he must prepare the cooperative budget (plan) in line with the cooperative pillars as set out by board of directors.
  • Prepare and provision of quarterly report of cooperative activities, and this should be submitted to the board two weeks before the board meeting.
  • Preparation of lease agreements and other leasable properties of the cooperative.
  • Efficiency use and implementation of cooperative budget
  • Approval of cash and cheque payments
  • Efficiency use of cooperative incomes in line with cash inflows with a view to avoid frequent cooperative losses.
  • Daily checking in order to verify the conformity of report content and the cooperative activities.
  • With collaboration of cooperative accountant, s/he must prepare and report the dividends payment plan to cooperative members.
  • S/she must prepare training of cooperative members with collaboration of cooperative training & development department.
  • Preparation of training to cooperative employees with the purpose of improving their skills.
  • Monitoring and Supervision of cooperative employees.
  • Assisting different cooperative level of authority to possess the same vision
  • Executing all cooperative activities
  • Hiring and dismissing casual employees
  • Ensure cooperative good relation with its stakeholders
  • Preparation of cooperative annual budget and should be handled to the board of director at least at the end of September. This budget should be submitted to the board of directors before it is handled to the cooperative general assembly.
  • Approval of all cooperative payments documents
  • Preparation of annual employees leave plan of the cooperative and its implementation in line with Rwandan labor law.

Job Criteria

  • S/he must be having the bachelor’s degree (A0) in Economics, Management, Accounting or Finance
  • S/he must be having at least 30 years
  • S/he must be having working experience of at least 3 years in the similar position
  • S/he must be honest.
